In this sense, the title of the exhibition, <Este sol de la infancia – The Sun of Childhood>, is particularly meaningful. This title is a reference to the poem ‘Those Blue Days and That Sun of Childhood (Estos dias azules y este sol de la infancia)‘ by Antonio Machado (1875-1939), one of the pioneers of 20th-century Spanish modern poetry. The poem juxtaposes Machado’s childhood with the present life of exile, conveying a longing for resistance and warmth despite the enveloping winter and sense of defeat. As the title implies, encapsulating ‘childhood’, resistance, and yearning, Guim Tió’s latest exhibition offers viewers a chance to reflect on their own memories with richer colors and emotions than before. Through Guim Tió’s works, may you recall your own experiences and emotions, and immerse yourself in the landscapes of nature as he has interpreted them.
